S/MIME Certificates

Specify the certificate store to be used for decrypting S/MIME encrypted emails. Emails that are encrypted using S/MIME can be archived without the corresponding certificate, but the corresponding S/MIME certificate is required to display such an email.


Windows Certificate Store

Determines that the Windows certificate store should be used for decrypting S/MIME encrypted emails. The appropriate certificate must be added to the Windows certificate store. If necessary, consult the Microsoft Windows documentation to learn how to add new certificates to the Windows certificate store.


Application Store

Determines that the internal certificate store should be used for decrypting S/MIME encrypted emails. The appropriate certificate must be added to the internal certificate store.


Overview of the internal certificate store

The internal certificate store overview lists all currently available S/MIME certificates, which are currently present in the internal certificate store and provides you with more detailed information about the certificate.


By right-clicking on the overview, you will be given additional options that allow you to add new certificates, or to export or delete existing certificates.


Import

Opens a window for selecting an S/MIME certificate to be added to the internal certificate store. After selecting the appropriate certificate, you may need to enter the private key.


Export

Opens a window for selecting the file name to which the selected S/MIME certificate should be exported. After selecting the corresponding file path, you must enter the private key.


Remove

Removes the selected S/MIME certificate from the internal certificate store.
