The blacklist allows you to determine that emails that meet the criteria defined here are completely excluded from archiving and thus do not even find their way into the archive. This helps you save disk space and also keeps unwanted emails away.

Email Addresses

Specify email addresses that should be added to the blacklist. Any email which has been sent to you by an email address defined here, will be excluded from archiving and thus not archived.

Blacklist email addresses

Enables the option to block specific email addresses. Enter the complete email address in the corresponding text field, and make sure that you enter only one email address per line.

Domain Names

Specify domain names (internet addresses, URLs) that should be added to the blacklist. Any email which has been sent to you by a domain name specified here will be excluded from archiving and thus not archived.

Blacklist domain names

Enables the option to block specific domain names. Enter the complete domain name in the corresponding text field and make sure that you enter only one domain name per line.

IP Addresses, Ranges and Subnets

Specify IP addresses, IP ranges, and IP subnets that should be added to the blacklist. Any email which has been sent to you by a value determined here, will be excluded from archiving and thus not archived.

Blacklist IP addresses, ranges and subnets

Enables the option to block specific IP addresses, IP ranges and IP subnets. Enter the complete value in the corresponding text field and make sure that you enter only one value for each line.

If you want to add an IP address or an IP subnet, simply type the corresponding IP address or the corresponding IP subnet in the text field like "123.123.123.123" or "123.123.64.0/18". You can enter an IP range by entering the appropriate range, for example "123.123.64.0 - 123.123.127.255".

When you enter the values, you are not limited to just one type. You can easily mix and add IP addresses, IP ranges, and IP subnets.

Countries

Specify countries that should be added to the blacklist. Any email that has been sent to you from a country specified here will be excluded from archiving and will not be archived.

Blacklist countries

Enables the option to block certain countries. To block a country, simply select it from the overview. The overview lists all countries with the country code and country name. By clicking on the country overview, you will be offered further options.

Select all

Selects all countries from the list. Although this option is offered to you, it is not recommended to actually select all countries because otherwise you will lose almost 100% of all emails.

Clear all

This disables all selected countries

Headers

Specify headers that should be added to the blacklist. Any email which contains a header defined here, is excluded from the archiving and thus not archived.

Blacklist headers

Enables the option to block specific headers. In the corresponding text field, enter the complete header and make sure that you enter only one header for each line.

For example, to exclude newsletters and other advertising (no spam) from the archive, you can add the "Precedence: bulk" header by simply typing Precedence=bulk in the text box.

This will exclude all emails from the archive, which contain the header with the name "Precedence" and the value "bulk".

To block a specific header, the name and then the value separated by a = character must be entered in the text field:

• Name=Value

The headers also allows you to use a so-called wildcard so that you do not have to enter all the values of a specific header, but to add the complete header to the blacklist.

You can do this by adding the name of the header with the value * separated by a =

• Name=*

So for the "Precedence" header you would therefore add "Precedence=*" to the text field.

Domain Extensions (TLDs)

Specify domain extensions (TLDs) that should be added to the blacklist. Any email that has been sent to you by a domain ending with a domain extension defined here will be excluded from archiving and thus not archived.

Blacklist domain extensions (TLDs)

Enables the option to block certain domain extensions. In the corresponding text box, type the full domain extension, such as .com and make sure that you enter only one domain extension per line. You can also add second-level domains like .co.uk

Trashmail

Specify whether emails should be excluded from archiving that have been sent to you by a disposable email address, a so-called trashmail address. Disposable email addresses are often used to send spam/junk messages and they often contain malicious software so that such emails should not be given any relevance on a regular basis.

Blacklist disposable email addresses and domain names

Enables the option to exclude disposable email addresses and their domain names. Any received email sent to you by a disposable email address will be excluded from archiving and will not be archived.
