MailShelf can easily inform you of the result of various events by email. In order to sent such email notifications to you, the corresponding settings must be made.
Email Alerts Settings
In the email alerts settings, you specify the email account to be used to send notifications.
Email from
Enter the sender address for email notifications. This is the email address from which the messages are sent.
Email to
Enter the recipient address of the email notifications. This is the email address that receives all email notifications. Multiple receivers can also be entered by comma-separating them.
Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
Enter the email server to be used (SMTP server), e.g. "smtp.mydomain.tld".
Port
Enter the port of the email server, e.g. "25".
Timeout
Enter a timeout value in seconds. This value determines that the specified number of seconds that is to be waited or retried before an error is displayed.
Encryption
Determine whether the connection to the server should be done using SSL/TLS and thus encrypted. Possible values are "None", "SSL" as well as "TLS".
User name
Enter the user name for the corresponding email account.
Password
Enter the password for the corresponding email account.
Connection Test
Tests the connection to the specified email server, while ensuring that the specified email account information is valid. The result of the connection test can be found in the corresponding final report.
Notifications
Select the type of notifications you would like to be notified by email.
Send notification upon operation's successful completion
Select this option if you want to receive an email notification when the archiving and/or exporting process completes.
Send notification upon operation failure
Select this option if you want to receive an email notification when the archiving and/or exporting process fails.
Send notification when user interaction is required
Select this option if you want to receive an email notification when the application requires your interaction.
Send notification when new updates are available
Select this option if you want to receive an email notification when new application updates are available.
Add full log to the notification
Select this option if every email notification should contain a full log of the archiving and/or exporting process. Please note that a full log can be very large so it could be rejected by your email account provider due to size restrictions.
