Within a MailShelf multi-user environment installation, you can provide MailShelf Client to other users so that they can connect to MailShelf Server.
Client Location
Specifies the path where MailShelf Client should be deployed.
To select the deployment location, click the folder icon "Select Client Location..." and specify your desired location.
You can select any local path (e.g. folders, hard drives, thumb drives etc.) on your computer and any network path (e.g. network shares, network drives etc.) as deployment location but you have to ensure that you have the appropriate read/write permissions for the selected path.
Since MailShelf Client is a network-based application that is normally intended to be deployed to your users on the network, it is recommended that you choose a network path as the deployment path.
This ensures that MailShelf Client can be obtained from all users.
After selecting the deployment path, the MailShelf Client installation file is placed on the selected path.
MailShelf Client is based on MailShelf Server, but with the difference that MailShelf Client can only be operated in the multi-user environment and therefore, requires a MailShelf Server installation on your network.
With MailShelf Client, you can provide your users a full-fledged MailShelf installation, with all data stored centrally on MailShelf Server even though MailShelf Client is running on the users' local systems.
In order for a user to be able to use MailShelf Client, an appropriate user account must first be set up or already exist.
In order for all users to be able to log in to MailShelf, please inform your users of the necessary login data, which have been defined in the User Management section.
The installation of MailShelf Client is similar to all other MailShelf editions.
MailShelf Client is an integral part of MailShelf Server, so there are no additional costs and no additional licenses have to be purchased since the licensing of MailShelf Client takes place by using client access licenses.
Therefore, you are entitled to provide MailShelf Client for the number of users specified in the "Client Access Licenses" section.
For manual deployment, MailShelf Client can also be downloaded for free.
