Select Data Source

Import from external text file

Allows you to select a text file that contains the subscriber addresses. The text file can be on your local computer on a computer within your network. Allowed file formats for selection are .txt, .csv, .htm as well as .html files.

Import from a website via http://

Allows you to import subscriber addresses from a website address. Allowed file formats are .txt, .csv, .html as well as .html files.

Import from clipboard

Please select your desired options and click 'Import' to proceed with the import process. After clicking on "Import", a new window is displayed where you can select further options. Based on your settings in "Select Data Source" as well as in "Select Desired Operation", you will have different options to further proceed with the import process.

Import File Path

This option is available when using an external text file as data source and represents the file path of the file that contains the subscriber addresses. You can click on the folder icon to select the file file that should be imported.

Import File URL

This option is available when using a website as data source and represents the file path of the file that contains the subscriber addresses. Please enter your desired URL an click the download button to download the given file.

Format

Specifies the format of the source file, whether if it is delimited or free. Select "Delimited" if the source file is delimited. A delimited file looks like: "joe@bloggs.com"; "Joe"; "Bloggs"; etc. When using a delimited source file you have also to specify the field delimiter that matches with the source file. In the example above, the field delimiter would be ";". You can also specify if the first row of the source file contains the field names. If this is so, the source file would look like this:

"Email"; "First Name"; "Last Name"; etc.

"joe@bloggs.com"; "Joe"; "Bloggs"; etc.

Select "Free" if the source isn't delimited. A file that isn't delimited would look like this:

joe@bloggs.com

fred@bloggs.com

john@doe.com

jane@doe.com

When selecting the free format, there is no need to specify a field delimiter therefore the options "Field Delimiter" as well as "First row contains field names" are greyed out and unavailable for selection.

Don't add addresses that are blacklisted*

This option is only available when selecting "Add to the list and subscribe addresses" at "Select Desired Operation" and means that addresses that have been blacklisted should not be imported during the import process therefore, such addresses would be skipped from import. Depending on your blacklist settings, this feature can also avoid to import disposable email addresses (Trash Email Addresses) to your mailing list.

Subscribe addresses that are already present in the list

This option is only available when selecting "Add to the list and subscribe addresses" at "Select Desired Operation" and means that addresses that might already been present in the currently selected mailing list should be subscribed if they are currently inactive/unsubscribed.

Please select your desired options and click "Next" to proceed with the import process. If the chosen format of the import file is "Free", the import process will start right away. By selecting the "Delimited" format, you have to set the field linkings before the import process starts so please select the appropriate "Origin" value from your import file and the appropriate "Destination" from the currently selected mailing list.

The only mandatory field in this step is the field "Email". Click "Next" to proceed with the import. The application will only import valid email addresses therefore it is very important that the selected origin links actually to an email address.

Based on the total count of lines in the selected file, this process can take some time. You can at any time pause/resume or cancel the process by clicking the appropriate button.

*This feature/option is only available in zebNet NewsTurbo Pro and zebNet NewsTurbo Server.
